Ask nearby dealerships for private offers, inside the assistant you already use.
Who it is for: a buyer in the United States who has a Ridekick account. Ridekick lists cars near you where it has them.
What your assistant can do
With this connection, your assistant can help you:
- See cars listed near you for a make and model, and the choices Ridekick lists for it: years, trim levels, drivetrains and fuel types.
- Ask dealerships that list a matching car for an offer. Your assistant shows you each request and waits for your yes before it sends. Dealerships are contacted by email, by text or through the dealership's own contact form, only about a car you asked about, within daily limits.
- Read your requests: the car, where each one stands and, only when a dealership has put its out-the-door price in writing, the offer.
- Where your account has it: see one dealership's offer in full, with the vehicle price, tax, fees and total.
Which of these you see depends on your account. Your assistant:
- Explains how Ridekick works
- Lists your requests
- Shows one request in full
- Shows what a request would do, and contacts no dealership
- Sends a request to dealerships (it reaches real dealerships and cannot be undone)
- Compares cars from a search
- Shows what is new on a request
How asking works
Your assistant shows you each request and waits for your yes before it sends.
An offer shows on your Ridekick request page if a dealership sends one. A dealership may not reply.
What private means
What private means here: the offers come to you. Until you choose to share your details, dealerships you ask do not get your full last name, email or phone. They may get your ZIP code. Ridekick tries to email you each time. The company that makes your assistant sees what your assistant reads, under its own terms.
Connect ChatGPT
Until Ridekick is in ChatGPT's directory, you add it with its address.
- Go to https://chatgpt.com/plugins.
- Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name and a short description. Use the name Ridekick.
- Under Connection, choose Public endpoint. Enter https://www.ridekick.com/api/mcp.
- ChatGPT asks you to configure authentication. Ridekick signs you in with OAuth. Read the warning ChatGPT shows, then continue.
- Select Create as a plugin.
- ChatGPT lists the tools it found. Install it, then start a new conversation. An older conversation does not see it.
When ChatGPT shows the Ridekick sign-in, sign in and approve the connection on that Ridekick screen.
If you do not see Add custom MCP server, your account or workspace rules decide what ChatGPT lets you add. Ask your workspace admin.
What to say first: "How does Ridekick work?" and "List my Ridekick requests."
Connect Claude
Claude is not open to every account yet. If adding the connector does not work, your account may not have it yet. Until Ridekick is in Claude's directory, you add it as a custom connector with its address.
- Go to Customize, then Connectors, at https://claude.ai/customize/connectors. In the desktop app, choose Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it under Organization settings, Connectors, Add, Custom, with the type Web. Members then select Connect.
- Select Add custom connector.
- Enter the server address: https://www.ridekick.com/api/mcp.
- For authentication, choose Sign in now. Each user signs in before using the connector.
- For the OAuth client, choose Use Claude's published identity. Do not choose to register automatically, and do not choose your own OAuth client.
- Select Add. You cannot change the authentication settings after this. To change them, remove the connector and add it again.
- Open a conversation, select + in the message box, choose Connectors, and turn Ridekick on. The switch is per conversation.
Sign in and approve on a Ridekick screen. Claude can ask before it uses a tool: choose Allow once to decide each time. Ridekick cannot see your answer, so say yes only to what you want Claude to do.
If Claude asks you to reconnect, select Reconnect and sign in again. To disconnect, open Ridekick under Customize, then Connectors, and select Disconnect.
Limits
Limits: a dealership may not reply. A dealership's price is its own and can change. Ridekick does not set it or promise it, so confirm it with the dealership before you rely on it. Asking dealerships reaches real dealerships and cannot be undone. This connection takes no payment and has no checkout.
After the first message to a dealership, Ridekick's AI assistant may keep writing to that dealership for you, with replies and follow-ups.
