How Ridekick works

how_ridekick_works: constant text that explains what Ridekick does, what dealerships see, how prices and notices work, and the rules for using the tools.

Who can use it

Anyone. It is the one tool that needs no sign-in and reads nothing about a buyer, so a host can read it before the buyer has connected. It is always listed.

Arguments

This tool takes no arguments.

What it returns

A text answer, and a structuredContent object with a version and a list of topics. The text is the same on every call until the explain text changes: read version to know.

Errors

A call the tool cannot do answers with isError: true and a body of the form { "error": { "code": "...", "message": "..." } }. Branch on error.code; the codes are on the Errors page. This tool needs no token, so it never answers with a sign-in challenge.

Example

A tools/call request to https://www.ridekick.com/api/mcp:

json
{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": 1,
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "how_ridekick_works",
    "arguments": {}
  }
}
