Cost-to-own data
Car Depreciation and Fuel Cost by Model
Our five-year cost-to-own estimate adds up how much value a model is expected to lose to depreciation plus what you'll spend on fuel over the first five years of ownership. Pick a make and model to see its estimate and the year-by-year breakdown.
What this estimate includes
The five-year figure combines two costs: projected depreciation (the value a model loses over five years) and estimated fuel spend over that period.
It is not a full total-cost-of- ownership number: insurance, maintenance, and repairs are not included. Your actual cost depends on mileage, driving habits, fuel prices, and where you live.
